Previous Game:  The Friars defeated Seton Hall 98-93 in OT, Provy pulled out the W despite not making a FG in the last 9 total minutes, they won it at the FT line where they went 31-42.  Jeff Xavier paced the Friars with 20 points and Efejuku had 19 points along with 8 rebounds.

Game Preview: Don't be fooled by Provy's 5-2 BE record, their 5 wins are as follows Cincy (2), Seton Hall and DePaul, the lesser teams of the conference.  Provy's best win is probably @ Cincinnati, not a very good win at all.  Provy will be hungry to beat a banged up, down Syracuse team and get the resume builder they need.  With the loss of Andy Rautins for the game (ankle) and Mookie Jones for the season (hip, possible redshirt), Cuse is going to be down to a thin lineup.  Expect Flynn to play all 40 minutes, and maybe even Harris to play all 40 minutes.  The interesting thing about Providence is that 2 of their top 3 scorers are coming off the bench in Marshon Brooks and Jonathan Kale, the Friar rotation is 8 guys all playing 25 minutes or so.  Providence is a veteran group, of the 8 man rotation there are no freshman, 1 sophomore, 1 junior, 1 redshirt junior and 5 seniors, that is the most experienced group in the BE.  Providence is a team that will be on the bubble and with so many seniors, they will be fighting to go dancing in their final seasons.  Syracuse needs to jump on Providence early, not let the crowd get into it, get them out of their game early on.  Cuse will probably be forced to play zone exclusively with just a 6-7 man rotation they need to get out on the shooters, Efejuku (36%), Brooks (34%), Curry (36%) and Mckenzie (31%) are all decent 3 point shooters.  As for Cuse offense, they need to feed Jackson and AO, Provy cannot bang with Syracuse on the inside, FEED THE BIGS.  Flynn should be able to bounce back from his last two subpar performances and be ready to play big time, maybe he has realized he cannot do it all alone.  Devendorf and when Rautins is back needs to step up sometimes and get the ball from Flynn if he see's him trying to just take it by himself, set up the offense and run it to get a bucket rather than a T.O.

My Prediction:   This game will depend on how Cuse defends against Providence in the 2-3.  Provy has 4 guys that can shoot, Provy will get too dependent on the three ball and just start chucking like other teams have done against Syracuse this season.  After making a couple and getting the crowd pumped they will get overconfident and shoot themselves out of the game, Syracuse drops the two game losing skid and wins 76-67.

Final Score: 100-94 Providence
